František Výrostko was born Oct 4, 1980 in Martin, Slovakia.

He studied double-bass at the Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava with prof. Radoslav Šašina. In 2021, he finished his studies with „artis doctor“ degree. Since 2022 he teaches here.

He is a member of Capella Istropolitana (SK) and Ostravska Banda (international contemporary music ensemble). He cooperates with the orchestras: Schallfeld Ensemble (A), UMZE (HU), SEM Ensemble (NY), Quaartsiluni ensemble (HU), Camerata variabile (CH), Klangforum Wien(A), Symfonia Vienna (A), EnsembleSpectrum (SK) Quasars ensemble (SK), BraCk Players (SK).

As a chamber player he performed at many significant stages like Lincoln center (NY), Carnegie Hall (NY), Conservatoire Paris, Schleswigholstein music festival, Darmstadt festival, Ultraschall festival Berlin, Prague Spring, Impuls festival Graz, Janáčkův máj, Ostrava New Music Days, Gaia- Vilnius, Beijing, Paris, Martinique, Jakarta…

He presented himself as a soloist with Ostravská banda (International), BraCk Players (SK), Cappella Istropolitana Kvintet (SK), Quaartsiluni ensemble (HU), Quasars ensemble (SK), Albrecht Quartet (SK) and as a member of the  Quasars ensemble with Slovak Philharmonic.

In 2021, he recorded his contemporary music debut CD called Doublebassement.

The range of music he participates in, is large. Besides standard repertoary he engages in contemporary art music, jazz (MoreOrLessTrio), pop and tango. He is leader and producer of a pop group project called Vtáci Prelietaví. He composed music for several theatre productions. After his literary debut From the outside an introvert (2011), he published proses In their own nets (2014), Blue(2018) and Karma for free (2021). He is also co-author of a book about his family Viac Menej Traja (Výrostkovia).
